meraki
(adv.) [Pronounced -mA’raK-E] Greek
To do something with soul, creativity or love; to put something of yourself into your work. “to [act] with meraki”
When we think about our lives, as mid-career professionals, we can’t help but distinguish between the experiences and activities that have made us feel most engaged, excited, and, broadly, happy; Those experiences all share common threads: creating impact for clients, colleagues, and the families of people employed by our clients. Of course, growing a business brings challenges, but the rewards of a job well done make it so worthwhile.
Some years ago, we were exposed to the Greek idea of meraki; The idea is that there is a unique spirit infused upon the result of a craftsman’s work when it is done with professionalism, love, and sincere passion. As we look at the needs of employers and families in our markets, we believe an advisory firm seeking to add value with meraki is uniquely needed. Stuart and I share a vision to infuse our passion for clients and performance and believe this standard for hiring will ensure we can build a culture that endures beyond the rest of our professional tenures.
So, why create a new advisory firm? In summary, we believe that there is an opportunity to fill a gap in the marketplace by bringing the expertise, philosophy, enthusiasm, and relationships we have cultivated over decades of work in our markets. We want to make a meaningful impact, cultivate existing relationships, expand our network, and do high quality, unconflicted work to help our clients.
