A Great Big Fight to End Hunger – A Night of Music and Community

On September 8th, Valhalla sponsored a benefit concert at the State Theatre for the first-ever Great Big Fight to End Hunger. It was an amazing night! The concert, featuring Grammy Award-winning band A Great Big World, brought together friends, families, and neighbors in a way that many attendees described as feeling “like a wedding” — joyful, connected, and full of community spirit.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors whose support made the evening possible, and to everyone who attended, volunteered, or helped spread the word. More than 400 people joined us in person, filling the theatre with energy, generosity, and hope.

The event not only raised funds but also raised awareness about food insecurity in Centre County. Together, we took meaningful steps toward ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. Looking ahead, we are already considering plans for a 2nd Annual show in 2026. We welcome your feedback and ideas to help us make it even better.

In the meantime, you can continue to support the State College Food Bank through:

  • Donating food
  • Volunteering your time
  • Giving financially (Make a Donation Here)
  • Advocating for our mission in the community

Thank you for being part of this special evening and for standing with us in the fight against hunger.
